PUBG Mobile Latest : Government Official RTI Reply “No Permissions To Pubg Relaunch”

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY), following increasing speculation about the launch of PUBG Mobile India in the Indian market, has announced that the centre has not given the permission for PUBG Mobile in India to restart.
It is worth noting that in September, MEITY prohibited PUBG along with hundreds of other Chinese applications. MEITY claimed in response to an RTI request that ‘”MEITY did not grant PUBG launch permission.” On 30 November, the RTI request was sent and Insidesport published.

E-sport company GEM Esports shared RTI’s reaction on their handle on Instagram.

“Dear Sir/ Mam,
In the month of September, 2020, Government of India with the consultation of your Department (MEITY) banned various Chinese apps. One of which was Pubg Mobile Game. Now, there are many news which says that the game is being relaunched and the same is made specifically for the Indian Public and will not be harmful to the nation and its citizens. I would like to know if your department has given any such permission to the game so that it can be re-launched.”

Question submitted by RTI

MEITY replied: “MEITY has not granted PUBG’s launch permission

Previously, Insidesport had claimed that the executives of PUBG Corporation chased MeitY officials for more than a month, however, they still have to obtain a government appointment. PUBG Mobile India will not be made available on the Indian market in the immediate future due to its delay of receiving authorization.

“Efforts from PUBG were made in the right earnest, but situation is such – that there has been no headwind or progress on the matter. We don’t see game making a comeback in India for the next few months, at-least not before March 2021. It’s unfortunate but everyone has to live with it,” The PUBG official told Insidesport.
