This news is for you if you have an account on Gmail, Netflix, and Linkedin. A broad data breach archive has been revealed and hackers have recently posted over 3 billion user credentials online as part of a collection of data breaches, a report by BGR India has said.
This is a huge archive of people’s information that has been posted online, according to the paper, but it is not the product of a new hack or data breach. This so-called “Compilation of Many Breaches or COMB” could be, according to CyberNews, the largest ever compilation of stolen user credentials ever posted online.
The study added user information that the leak included a data breach at LinkedIn in 2012, involving 117 million users, as well as stolen login data from Netflix that began to appear online.
Another CyberNews article says that from sites such as Netflix, LinkedIn, and Bitcoin, these data breaches have occurred. According to the documents, the leaked data was stored in a password protected container at a venue.
Here is how you can defend yourself from fraud like this.
Here are measures you should take to protect you from such fraud.
- For your email address, use 2-factor authentication.
- Right now, update your password and do it frequently in the future.
- And to secure your accounts, use a strong password manager program.
- For different accounts, always use a different password.
- Whenever you use some different unit, make sure to sign out.
Over 100 crore individuals had their data leaked earlier in 2017. Data was leaked from query.sh, sorter.sh, and count-total.sh. It is said that this leak of data is close to the year 2017 as well. Data of more than 100 crore individuals was leaked in plain text at the time.
