The Formation and Promotion of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO) Scheme 2023 has been initiated by the Central government. As part of this plan, the government lead by PM Modi would establish 10,000 FPOs over the course of five years, from 2019–20 to 2023–2024, to guarantee farmers economies of scale. Every FPO will get support from the Union government for five years following the year of establishment. The goal of every Farmer Produce Organization (FPO) is to give small farmers a forum. The FPO’s job is to serve as an aggregator for its members, handling everything from inputs to output, so maximizing their economies of scale and negotiating leverage. If a lot is unsold, FPO/FPC is responsible for making the logistics arrangements.
